Welcome to the Aloha State!

It is no wonder Hawaii is at the top of many people’s travel bucket list. While it may be part of the United States, the gorgeous views, rich culture, and exhilarating activities transport its visitors to a completely different world. So, if you are ready to get lei’d, here are some of our favorite sights and must-dos while you are in Hawaii!

An Island for Everyone

With six major islands making up Hawaii, all decorated with their own unique beaches and a diverse selection of activities, there is bound to be something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

  • Kauai – Also known as the “Garden Isle” is the oldest Hawaiian island and is popular for its breathtaking views, tropical rainforests, and variety of exciting outdoor activities. You can get your adventure on by kayaking through Kauai’s winding rivers, hiking through Waimea Canyon, snorkeling, and exploring on Poipu Beach, or even ziplining!
  • Oahu – The perfect blend of a modern city and a peek into Hawaii’s history, Oahu is sometimes appropriately referred to as “The Gathering Place.” You can spend some time catching some waves on Waikiki Beach or riding horseback through the breathtaking Kualoa Ranch, which you may recognize from some of your favorite shows and movies (like LOST and Jurassic Park!). You can even take a leisurely tour through some of the historic sites on the island, like the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, or spend a family-friendly day the Waikiki Aquarium or Honolulu Zoo!
  • Molokai – Home to the highest sea cliffs in the world, Molokai is occupied by those with Native Hawaiin ancestry who help to preserve the rural lifestyle of this smaller island. Relax and enjoy the seclusion of Papohaku Beach, one of Hawaii’s largest white-sand beaches or hop on the back of a mule for a guided tour down a 2.9-mile trail and get a heart-pumping view of the ocean from 1,700 feet (about twice the height of the Empire State Building)!
  • Lanai – The smallest island of Hawaii but by no means the most boring. Depending on which part of the island you visit, you will be split between two different worlds. Lanai offers both luxury resorts with world-class amenities AND rugged off-road excursions that take you through back roads to some of the island’s hidden gems – like Shipwreck Beach!
  • Maui – Voted the “Best Island in the U.S.” for more than 20 years, this beloved island was visited by over 3 million people in 2019! With a variety of watersports, helicopter tours, and plenty of shops and markets, Maui has everything you need to create the perfect Hawaiian experience on one island.
  • Island of Hawaii – “The Big Island” may be the youngest of the six islands but it is almost two times bigger than all the other islands combined! Since it is so large, you can experience all four of the world’s climates on one island. Snow-capped mountains, massive volcanoes, thick jungles, and black sand beaches… the Island of Hawaii is an experience you do not want to miss.

Pamper Yourself in Paradise

Hawaii is not just for those seeking adventure, it is also the perfect place to relax and unwind. With several botanical gardens, sunset cruises, and luxury wellness centers, you can find your bliss (or “hau’oli” in Hawaiian!). Regardless of which island (or islands) you choose to visit, you can find opportunities to slow down and soak in the beauty of Hawaii.

Culinary Treasures

The food in Hawaii is unlike any other. Its dishes are filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, and fish and expertly infuses ancient culture with the flavors of the various influences that have inhabited the islands over many generations. You can find everything from food trucks and fresh markets to world-class restaurants and resort dining throughout the islands of Hawaii. Oahu (more specifically Honolulu) has gained a lot of attention over the past few years for its growing culinary scene.
