Wild About Disney!

Animal Kingdom Lodge Lobby

If Castles and Princesses are not your cup of tea (see what we did there?), join us as we take a trip to the wild side and discover Disney's Animal Kingdom and our favorite film-focused park, Hollywood Studios! Since these are considered Walt Disney World Resort's "smaller parks,” it's easy to combine both of them into one fun-filled day! So, grab your Park Hopper Pass*, and let's get started!

Lions, and Tiger, and... Dinosaurs? Oh my!

Whether you're interested in embarking on a guided tour of the African savanna, flying through the mountains of the Himalayas as you try to escape the clutches of the infamous Yeti, or traveling back to another time to come face to face with towering Dinosaurs... Animal Kingdom is sure to be a treat for animal lovers of all kinds!

This park gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the world's most exotic animals and shines a light on Disney’s conservation efforts! Some of the rides, like Kilimanjaro Safaris and the Kali River Rapids, also do a wonderful job of highlighting the beautiful and the dangerous side of our world - by exploring the habitats these animals live in and some of the threats they regularly face in the wild.

Animal Kingdom still also celebrates the “magic of nature” by bringing Pandora, the World of Avatar, to life! Through the exciting rides, flavorful dishes, and an immersive environment you’ll forget that you’re still in Orlando!

Let’s Go to the Movies!

Star Wars Storm Trooper stands in the middle of a crowd of tourists

Step into some of your favorite movies at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Regardless of age, Hollywood Studios has something for everyone - like the Disney Jr. Dance Party and a live sing-along with your favorite ‘Frozen” friends for your toddlers and heart-stopping drops and rollercoasters for the thrill-seeker in all of us!

Most recently, Hollywood Studios made it possible to travel to a “galaxy far, far away” and back in just one afternoon with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Between the live shows, encounters with some of your favorite out-of-this-world Characters (we’re looking at you, BB-8!), and the chance to join the Resistance in an unforgettable battle against the Dark Side... you’ll feel at once with the force! Plus, if you’re a real Star Wars fan, you’ll want to take some time to try the Blue Milk and visit Oga’s Cantina to debate the famous question of “who shot first... Han or Greedo?”

When Should I Go?!

Since Florida has practically perfect weather all year long, it’s safe to say that you could visit Disney World any time of year! With the pandemic, obviously, there are many things that come into play! As we mentioned in our last blog, Walt Disney World has incorporated procedures to protect the health of their Cast Members and Guests... this includes reduced capacity and limited Character Meet & Greets. On that note, we do recommend purchasing your tickets and making park reservations in advance, and verifying if the Park Hopper option is available at the time of your visit. Keep in mind, summertime and the holiday season are both busy times of the year for parks so be sure to plan around those times if you aren’t a fan of larger crowds and wait times!
